For those of us that have a vanilla title, will it be overridden by the new title if we go for that? I’d like to have the freedom of trying the new system without having my old title replaced by the new one.

It would be great to activate old titles again and make an “Feats of Strength” Achievement for those who gained it in “vanilla”-wow, and make them only available for those who get the title in the “vanilla”-wow battle grounds, it would also be cool to give the people who got it in vanilla, an little child with the Alliance or Horde flag on his back, like the companions from argent tournament with Stormwind, Ironforge, Exodar and Darnassus flag, but then the Alliance or Horde flag
It would be great if they make new titles for the battlegrounds they made after “vanilla”-wow, and the rankings they would have made after it.
I personally hope they make it an good system, and give the people who got some titles already an special reward with an “Feats of Strength” achievement.
The best thing i would like to see is more people on pvp battle grounds or arena’s who like to do it, cause u can earn anything, and i also hope there will be more experienced people in pvp too.
That is my opinion.

Well, its just a tittle. of course to prove others what you have achieved.. Being an old PvP’er is rare these days.. We could just make new ones OR we could let blizz ruin the lore as they are doing it.. by taking all the old school and remake it. instead of making people who choose old days rather than fancy expansion to have there own realms to enjoy. In vanilla days i was only Level 14 and made Scout/Private. and i wanted to try more but.. well you know TBC came.
But in my Opninion i just think they should make new things and NOT remake things… just make Vanilla and TBC realms..

Here is another instance of the slap in the face attitude Blizz has towards veteran players. I fully agree with Wildchild above. Make new titles for the current expansion, or add a prefix to the old ones so we can be recognized for our accomplishments. Way back in the day us old-timers had to bust our @– for everything we got. Now everything is handed out freely in the interest of getting more cash and players. This isn’t a QQ of “poor me” just an observation of what the game USED to be and what is has turned into. If I need to start over and re-earn my title, so be it. But after paying for a subscription all this time I really expected a bit more respect out of Blizz.

I understand why people want these titles. Hell, i’d love to have one of them myself, but at the same time, it’s not THAT bloody important. I understand why the old players might get upset that suddenly a bunch of new people have the same title the old players have had for years. What I don’t get is why the new people feel that they are entitled to a title that became unavailable years before they started playing. You want one of the old pvp titles? Go back in time and start pvp’ing.
I for one would love to have been at the worlds fair when the first television was put on display, but does that mean I should start complaining about how the whole world should go back in time so I can be there? No. If I owned a television back when almost no one did, should I complain now that almost everyone has one? No.

I agree with WildChild.
While I had only gotten to Corporal on my main, as I only PvP’d with a select group of buddies to lessen the boredom of leveling, it’s great to be able to throw that title on in an instance and suddenly people are willing to listen to what I say instead of just ignoring people like PuG’s usually do. Just imagine if all the players that ever obtained Grand Marshall came back to WoW after a two year break just to see people he’s never heard of running around with Knight-Captain. In the old system, before cross realm BG’s, all of the higher ranks knew each other, including both Alliance and Horde sides. Guilds would set up a KOS target just for fun, because someone always had a friend that they liked to pick on from time to time on the opposite faction. That rarely, if ever, happens anymore. Which I feel is sort of depressing.
So please, for the love of god Blizz, pick different titles to give the new Ranked BG’s. And if you don’t, then hand me a free ZA Bear, and I might forgive you. Honestly.

I don’t understand why people are hating on bringing them back. New people deserve the chance to get these pvp titles just as much as the more experienced players. Since it is performance based you’re not going to get randoms with these titles, you will be getting good players. If you already have a title then maybe you should keep pvping and see if your still good enough for it. If someone new comes along and beats your ass then there you have it, he deserves the title just as much as you… did.

Actually, I have twoo toons who this will affect – one earnt Champion/Lt Commander the old hard as bricks competitive way, the other earnt it once they gutted that system and replaced it with just honor kills driven. I wish the older form was kept separate, but frankly the newer one means nothing.

If people can go back and get the original titles that are now like a badge of honor worn by those who have been playing long enough to have them, then I definitely agree with Michel above, let us get the Bear mount again in a revamped for 85 heroic ZA. better yet, let me finally do the final quest in the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline and get my black bug mount! After all, if nothing is sacred in WoW, open EVERYTHING back up!

you dont just grind bgs for em now, you need to win matches and perform well in BGs. not just afk in a cave. performance is the way to go

How do you figure they will be hard to obtain? No matter what happens you cant go down in rating int he current version of the system, if anything the titles will be far easer to obtain.

the people that have the titles were not accuired from skill, just many hours of wasted life/friends lifes. therefore the old titles should be brought back skill based this time.

This is clearly a post from someone who never participated seriously in the old system, the lower ranks were pretty simple any idiot could AFK in a BG for rank 4-5 but anything past that was a completely different story. On many Servers the only way to get past rank 7 was to join or run a premade group and grind for hours there was a significant amount of skill, time and organization involved to get to the top.

Think this is a terrible idea….. yes im an old pvp’er and i have the title …. all be it im horde now and earnt it as ally…. besides its not only a hard earned title but it also denotes im an ‘old hand’ in wow… something i am … sad as it maybe… very proud.
Dont do it wow you have already almost completely destroyed the levelling side of the game and as for the limited end game … well !!!!!

I feel this is a good thing only for one reason a lot of “lost” our titles when transferring to other realms in BC but I can totally see why this would be considered unfair to old pvpers.

Yeah since the old titles were so incredibly hard to grind BGs for hours on end to get. I really don’t think people should have something noone else has a chance of getting in this game. We all paid our money to buy the game and we all pay our money to play……hopefully………………………….

1st off: bad idea, old titles were good in vanilla based on THAT system of BG’s
2nd: make new ones that are based off of a NEW slandered of play.
Lastly: make titles specifically for the BG type. WSG, AB – base defense ones, AV or IoC for strategy or SOtA for overall play – think about it.
