“Those with sufficiently large numbers can earn in-game rewards such as a permanent bonus to “need” rolls, the ability to cut to the front of the queue in the Dungeon Finder, a larger ignore list, a much shorter dungeon deserter debuff, or — if your number is exceedingly impressive — a new non-combat pet, Binky the Mechano-Rooster.”
They certainly did put some effort in this April Fools’ Day. Or maybe not. :s

–What I don’t understand about gearscore, in general, is that gear with the wrong attributes, which is not class appropriate, raises gs significantly over gear with great class attributes, but lower level.
–Why would a staff with strength or spellpower raise a hunters gs over a “lower level” weapon with agility, stamina, attackpower, *when in reference to a hunter*, just because it has slightly higher damage rating?
–It would be nice if gear scores were class and gear attribute driven, not necessarily gear level driven.

haha great joke….kinda disappointed about not getting the rooster though lol…would be a good idea for blizz to do something like this so people will stop crying about gearscore, except do it without the ridiculous bonuses of having a high gearscore lol

It is sad. Gearscore pretty much is only used to manifest ego’d out people, more and more, each time they look at it. It’s sad. Am I the person around who has witnessed a group, with no one higher than 4900 (according to the “gearscore” addon) clear 2 wings off ICC?

@Elstefan – It’s an abbreviation, of sorts, for e-penis. Whose is bigger, all that sort of thing. It’s a derogatory term used when someone is very full of themselves and focused on their superiority over others based on some aspect of a game or computing, whether it’s warranted or not.
I find it a little bit sad that people have commented as much as they have without reading any other comments, or apparently having a sense of humor. I laughed my butt off over this.

Sigh, I am so sick of the ‘gearscore’ addon and its number requirement for runs that I was actually excited to see that maybe blizz wanted to put this in check. Considering that there is no real information on what derives a gearscore rating, it would really be nice if wow-heroes would pop out an in game rating system. I enhanced a set of gear with 17 enhancements(previously having none) and it popped my wow-heroes score up 800 points, but didn’t raise my gearscore a single point. Just the proof in the pudding that gearscore is butkus, wow-heroes rocks, and someone needs to pop out a better ingame rating system(hint hint). Rock on Heroes, still the only rating I use when evaluating a pug.

The official site post was so full of phallic references, I didn’t even notice the EPEEN right away. “satisfaction you’ll receive knowing your equipment is significantly more impressive than average.” That and a pet rooster had me chuckling.
