The World of Warcraft Remote Auction House beta test is now open for business! The Remote Auction House is a new service in development that lets players access the World of Warcraft Auction House from the Armory website (http://us.wowarmory.com/auctionhouse/) or the Mobile Armory app for iPhone and iPod touch (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=321057000&mt=8). Players can browse their characters’ local Auction Houses with the same search functionality available in the game, as well as see the real-time status of each of their current bids and auctions.
As we’d mentioned previously (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22748781945), certain features of the Remote Auction House will be premium-based. Once the beta test is complete and the Remote Auction House is live, players will be able to subscribe to a new service called World of Warcraft Remote (http://us.wowarmory.com/wow-remote.xml), which will allow them to buy items; post items for sale from a character’s bags, bank, or mailbox; collect gold from their bids and auctions; and more. During the beta test, players can try out these features for free, and each World of Warcraft account will be able to perform up to 25 transactions per day. (Please note this limit will be increased at launch.)
The list of realms eligible to participate in the beta test is displayed below. If your realm is not on this list, please check again soon, as we plan to eventually open the beta test to all realms.

Well this is either gonna be a good thing and lower prices in the AH because of fierce undercutting wars..or cause a few people who have lots of gold to make a ton more and raise prices…

i can see this thing going 1 of 2 ways
A. it will stabilize the economy because people like me who work a full time job AND goto school cant sit there and watch our auctions so i have to throw everything into the AH and hope something sells before i head off to work and school, while with this i can check them on lunch, breaks and between classes and re-list a few items and hence break the domination of the AH by a few players.
or B. it will snap the back of my servers economy (or any server with a problem like this) because as a good example, there are 3 people controlling the vast majority of the auctions on gems chanting mats and crafted items on my server, so if i list my 245 item that took me a week to get the time to farm the mats for and the guy controlling the crafted items part of the AH can check from work he can instantly undercut me enough i ether let him take it for half its value and watch him re-list it at its full value or i give up and try in trade, where as before i could normally undercut him later at night or when he was at work out with gf/wife ect ect or on weekdays when he was raiding and get my item sold easily enough, where as now he can check anytime he wants say his raid takes 5 he can check who’s undercutting him and instantly relist everything.
It could also lead to new players no longer being able to get good deals and having to dish out what ever the people controlling the AH say he has-to, and for those of you thinking they lose there advantage because they don’t have there addons, if this survives the beta how long do you think it will be before someone makes a phone version of auctioneer and/or a warning addon that says there auction has been undercut?

I fear this is a bad idea. Great for us auction house farmers but bad for the game.
New people need a little help and a good deal once in a while makes all the difference. With this in place I will own my server. Already without watching the AH while at work, I’m able to dominate and dictate most if not all the major money makers on my server. Which is not on the list for beta testing
Either way, good for me bad for WOW in general!

its actually useful. you guys don’t realize that not all of us have time to log into individual characters to transfer items, check all of the mail, and repost things.
