One of the main differences between rs and os is that you HAVE to down the 3 minibosses to get the main boss to appear in rs.

Item gear levels are 268 and 271. This isn’t OS get that straight.

To be honest, I have tried this with a few of my 80′s (Some I ran with my guilds, others I pugged) and the difficulty of the instance is more in the raid awareness and the skill level of the people you bring.
The runs that I did with my guilds, we were able to talk about what happened in the fight and down each mini-boss in one shot, and then Halion in about 3-4. This boss is fairly easy when everyone is communicating, when people aren’t being stupid, and when you have people who can play their class well, instead of people who facerolled to 6k GS and have no idea what the F*** to do.
The runs that I did with the pugs, on the other hand, were at least able to one shot Saviana Ragefire and General Zarithrian. However, on Baltharus the Warborn the group wiped a substantial amount of times, because:
-The healers couldn’t understand that the tank needed heals through the Blade Tempest ablitiy.
-The DPS wouldn’t stop when they got the Enervating Brand, so his damage was substantially increased.
-The tanks were having a hard time picking up the mirror image.
The Halion fight with a pug is more or less *at least* 5 wipes, because firstly, people need to understand you run away when you get the debuff in P1, don’t get hit by infernals, and he’s a dragon, attack from the side. In P2, people need to learn that there are Satan Beams that will destroy you, there is substantial raid damage that you CANNOT put as second priority, and then there’s P3, where the raid leader has to split the damage and healing ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in order for corporeality to stay at 48%-52% the entire phase, or else it will wipe the raid.
All in all, this raid is a very fun, interesting addition to the end of WotLK. However, to all the people crying about, “omg moar free lewtz can i die?” No, it’s not free loot. If you think it is, why haven’t you downed it. Fun Instance, but BE ORGANIZED.

sort of. there are going to be 3 fights before the boss just like in os but the fights and gear will be on par with icc.

Yes and No.
In layout, it is similar to OS…there are 3 mini-bosses and trash clears that need taken care of before you get to Halion, and he has typical dragon abilities (frontal cleave, breath weapon, tail swipe), much like in OS.
However, RS and OS are not similar in strategy or difficulty. The while fight with Halion involves some new mechanics (circling the boss to avoid beams) and some old ones (splitting the raid evenly between two realms while killing the boss), it is on an equivalent difficulty level as the Lich King in ICC.
Looks like a fun fight overall. I can’t wait to down it with the guild.

Sort of, well the end boss has a few more tactics, but their is no difference to the final boss if you don’t kill the 3 mini boss’s.
